Practical Applications of NMR in Industry Conference (PANIC) was initiated to provide an interactive forum for discussion of the latest developments in the use of NMR for practical applications to real problems faced by scientists in industry and research institutions. The emphasis is the practicality of the solution and “getting the job done”.

This forum provides a venue for presentation of practical applications, and workshops for discussion of real-world experiences relevant to current product development needs with an opportunity to share case studies to drive further development of NMR technology. Solution-state, solid-state, time-domain, and zero-field applications are all equally welcome at PANIC.

PANIC also provides ample opportunity to network with peers and thought leaders from industry, regulatory, government, and academic institutions during networking receptions and breaks; engage in fruitful discussions during the poster sessions; and interact with sponsors and exhibitors.

New for 2017, our abstract submission process is changing.  We encourage all of our colleagues working in the field of applied magnetic resonance to submit an abstract, regardless of topic.  Our preliminary list of topics to be covered is below, but we are looking for great science—so please submit a proposal even if it does not fit neatly in this list.  We are also planning for some practical workshops on important topics we have identified through your feedback from previous conferences. This last point is quite important, since we believe we can better serve our purpose by listening to you. So, go ahead and submit an abstract for a talk or workshop idea; we are listening!

Topics may include but are not limited to:

  • Marine studies
  • qNMR
  • Imaging/MRI
  • Low-field applications
  • Mixture analysis
  • Material characterization
  • Rheo-NMR
  • Nanomaterials
  • Forensics
  • Determination of higher order structure in proteins
  • Carbohydrates and glycans
  • Polymers
  • Food
  • Oil/gas
  • Quality control
  • Workflow organization
  • Data analysis/interpretation techniques
  • Reaction monitoring
  • High-throughput screening
  • In-line/at-line NMR
  • Relaxometry
  • Validation of NMR experiments

Scientists who wish to present their knowledge and expertise to their colleagues are asked to

Deadline for submission is June 24, 2016.

All proposals are subject to review by the Organizing Committee to ensure the highest quality of the conference program.
